PERIMETER STRIP
Description:
The perimeter strip is a polyethylene strip that extends along the walls in order to absorb any settling movements of the underfloor heating.
To facilitate installation, the strip has an adhesive side that allows it to be easily and quickly attached to the wall.
Characteristics:
- Material: Polyethylene
- Density: 20 kg/m³ (+/-5)
- Acoustic insulation (dB): 20 dB
- Compression resistance (kPa): 7.81 kPa (0.076 kgf/cm²)
- Water absorption: 0.0057 kg/m²
- Operating temperature: -80 °C / +80 °C
- Standards: UNE-EN 826:1996 / UNE-EN 1609:1997
Additional Information
- Density: The density of 20 kg/m³ indicates that this material is lightweight, which facilitates handling and installation.
- Acoustic insulation: 20 dB of insulation means that this strip can reduce noise transmission through walls by 20 decibels. This can be useful for improving acoustic comfort in spaces where underfloor heating is installed.
- Compression resistance: The compression resistance of 7.81 kPa (0.076 kgf/cm²) indicates the material’s ability to withstand loads without deforming. This characteristic is important to ensure that the perimeter strip fulfils its function of absorbing the movements of the underfloor heating without being damaged.
- Water absorption: The low water absorption (0.0057 kg/m²) indicates that the material is resistant to moisture, which is important to prevent problems such as mould and deterioration over time.
- Operating temperature: The temperature range of -80 °C to +80 °C ensures that the perimeter strip can be used in a wide variety of environmental conditions, both in cold and warm climates.
