ACRYLIC POLYMER-BASED SUPERPLASTICISER

Description:

POLIFLUID-SA/3 is a new generation superplasticizer based on modified polycarboxylates, especially recommended for floor screeds, heat-distributing bonded screeds, ready-mixed concrete, and civil construction works.

Its objective is to achieve a strong water reduction (> 20%) and/or an increase in the workability of the concrete.

It allows producing concrete with a long maintenance of workability without counterproductive setting delays.

Its use is especially indicated for the construction of durable works in relation to the requirements and exposure classes specified in the UNI EN 206 standard.

Technical Characteristics:

  • Appearance: Liquid
  • Color: Amber
  • Active component: Polycarboxylate ether
  • Miscibility in water: All proportions
  • Density at 20 °C: 1.04 ± 0.02 g/cm³
  • pH @ 20 °C: 7.0 ± 0.5
  • Dry residue: 15 ± 0.5
  • Chloride content: < 0.10 %
  • Alkali equivalent content: < 3 %
  • Temperature range: +1 °C
  • Compliance: Compliant with UNI EN 934-2:2009 and UNI EN 934-3:2009 standards

Instructions for use:

The additive can be added together with the mixing water or directly to the already mixed concrete with 80-90% of the mixing water. Mixing times are compatible with mixers commonly installed in prefabrication plants.

Application areas:

  • All types of cement (according to UNI EN 197/1 standard).
  • Durable concrete.
  • Ready-mixed concrete.
  • High-performance concrete.
  • Plastic or fluid concrete.
  • Concrete for floors in hot climates.

Dosage:

The recommended dosage range is between 0.8 and 1.2% of the cement weight in relation to the desired workability. Higher doses allow the production of super-fluid concrete with very high mechanical strength with w/c ratios below 0.4. In the case of self-compacting concrete, the above dosages should be related to the amount of powder (cement, fly ash or filler, aggregate passing through a 0.125 mm sieve). The maximum effectiveness of POLIFLUID-SA/3 is determined after on-site tests, taking into account the rheological characteristics and the required mechanical strength of the concrete.

Storage:

Store protected from frost and intense sunlight. In case of frost, the product will retain its properties. Effective agitation is necessary until a completely homogeneous product is obtained. Product shelf life: 9 months.

Safety:

POLIFLUID-SA/3 is not classified. The use of personal protective equipment is recommended. The safety data sheet is available upon request.

Packaging:

25 kg plastic drums.

Notes:

  • UNI EN 934-2:2009 and UNI EN 934-3:2009: These are European standards that specify the requirements for concrete admixtures.
  • UNI EN 197/1: This is a European standard that specifies the requirements for common cements.
  • w/c ratio: This refers to the water-cement ratio, which is the ratio of the weight of water to the weight of cement in a concrete mix. A lower w/c ratio generally leads to higher strength and durability.
  • Self-compacting concrete: This is a type of concrete that can flow and fill complex forms without the need for vibration.
  • Rheological characteristics: These are the properties of the concrete that relate to its flow and deformation.
